DEATH OF AN OLD SETTLER
Robert Francis Marion Mathis of Cajon Dies Suddenly, Funeral Services Will be Held in This City
Word was sent down last night to Undertaker W. D. Aldridge, announcing the death of Robert Francis Marion Mathis of Cajon, and asking that the remains be brought down to this city and the funeral held here. Mr. Aldridge will start early this morning for Cajon to carry out the wishes of the family of the deceased and on his return the time for holding the funeral services will be announced. The funeral and interment will be in this city.
The deceased is a native of Tennessee, 68 years of age and came to this section a quarter of a century ago, and is well known to all the old settlers and pioneers. He is a brother-in-law of John Bessant of this city, the two marrying sisters, and leaves a large number of relatives to mourn his departure.
The deceased was in apparently his usual state oof good health until within a day or two, his death being quite sudden.
