GROVER C. MILLESON

Grover Cleveland Milleson, son of George W. and Alice Milleson, was born Nov. 5, 1887 in Hildreth, Nebr., and passed away at the Yocom hospital, April 24, 1954 at the age of 66 years, five months and 19 days.

Grover, who was the second of seven children, moved with his parents to Iowa at the age of four. They settled on a farm north of Knoxville. In 1901, they moved to a farm northeast of Milo. The following spring his father passed away. leaving him, at the age of fourteen, with many responsibilities.

He was united in marriage to Viva Carpenter April 23, 1916. To this union were born three daughters: Lorraine Stupar of Cherry Point, North Carolina, Jean Price and Margaret Curtis of Russell.

He moved with his family in 1929 to Russell where he resided until his death. He was a member of the First Baptist church and was serving as mayor at the time of his death.

On April 10, Grover suffered a heart attack and in spite of all that medical care and loving hands could do, passed away after a two week illness.

He was preceded in death by his mother on Nov. 21, 1952. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, three daughters, one brother, Homer of Milo, five sisters: Mrs. Bessie McNeill, Mrs. Carrie Wright, Mrs. Lois Wright, Mrs. Ethel Fenton of Des Moines, Mrs. Rilla Stitt of Bellflower, Calif., eight grandchildren, an aunt, Mrs. Belle Jarman of Knoxville and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 28, at the Methodist church and burial was in the Russell cemetery. The Rev. George Qualley officiated with the Rev. Archie Beals assisting. Carl H. Wright and Quincy Robb, accompanied by Mrs. Estella Johnston sang "The Old Rugged Cross," "Beyond the Sunset" and "One Sweetly Solemn Thought."
