Mrs Banteau Became Lost, Fell Into Deep Ravine, Breaking Her Arm and Reveiving Other Injuries Which Caused Her Death

************************
Mrs George Banteau, aged 88 years, died Wednesday, at the family residence about five miles north of the city, as the result of an accident which happened last Saturday night.
Mrs Banteau left her home last Saturday afternoon to go to the home of one of her children for some milk, and starting that seh might spend the night at that place.
After reaching her son's residence and obtaining the milk, she decided to return home, and while attemptong to return home became lost in the darkness and wandered entirely off the road.
The night was dark and the old lady could not see distinctly, and while trying to find her way out of her bewildered surroundings, she fell in a deep ravine, breaking one of her writst and inflicting other painful injuries.
Ins this condition, Mrs Banteau lay in the ravine all night, ans Sunday morning when it was learned she had not remained at her son's home, search was instituted, ans she was found in the ravine. She was carried home and given every possible attention, but her extreme age and the injuries received were sufficient to cause her death, and she passed away Wednesday morning.
The interment took place in the city cemetery this morning at 10o'clock, the funeral exercises being conducted fromthe Christian Chapel.

** the paper was incorrect, she was the wife of Henry Day Bantau. Family history is that the original spelling was Banteaux, then Banteau, now Bantau.
