From the Oct. 2, 1941 Gotebo Record:

John Willard Crawford, of Sentinel, was born Jan. 24, 1877 (sic) at Galesburg IL and passed away Sept. 20, 1941. He was married to Myrtle Clark on Nov. 24, 1901 at Gotebo. To this union one daughter was born. Coming to Oklahoma from Worth Co. MO in 1900, he has resided in the state ever since with the exception of ten years in Washington and California. He was a former postmaster at Gotebo. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Victor Davis of Wichita KS; three brothers, Elmer Crawford of Gravity IA, Harley W., of Ontario CA and Howard Phillips of Ravenwood MO; three sisters, Mrs. Geneve Burrell of Bedford IA, Mrs. Cora Geiskin of Ravenwood MO and Mrs. Harvey Long of Worth MO and two granddaughters, Victoria Ann and Marcia Rea Davis of Wichita KS. Funeral services were held Monday with burial in the Odessa Cemetery.
