His wives, Betty Lee Damron and Lou Cooper Damron, preceded Damron in death. He was a member of Brighton Baptist Church, Brighton, and Rosemark Full Gospel Church in Rosemark. He was a retired employee of Schering Plough of Memphis. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. Damron was active in youth baseball in Frayser and coached several teams for Frayser Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Nadine Damron of Olive Branch, and David and Leann Damron of Danvers, Ill; five grandchildren, Alan and wife Vicki Damron and Shannon and husband, Jason Grissom of Southaven, Miss, Chris Damron of Olive Branch, Laurie and husband Eric Crawford of Beardstown, Ill, and Jennifer and husband Tony Schrepfer of Goodfield, Ill; and 12 great-grandchildren.
