AUGUSTA, Ga. - Louis Correa, 73, beloved husband of Victoria Gavalas Correa, entered into rest Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, August 8, 2009 in the Telfair St. chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Father Anthony B. Gavalas officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Michael Erikson, Robert Erikson, Basil M. Gavalas, Michael B. Gavalas, Nicholas B. Gavalas, David N. Gavalas, Alan Nance and Myron Burke will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Salvatore Correa, Basil A. Gavalas and Gerard Pettinati. In addition to his loving wife Victoria, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Jeni Rose and her husband, Robert Erikson, Greensboro, North Carolina; son, Louis and his wife, Stacy Correa, Ridgefield, New Jersey; grandchildren, Christina Kekic, Michael Erikson, Juliann Louis and Joseph Correa; brothers, Joseph Correa, Bronx, New York, John Correa, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews and mother-in-law; Catherine C. Gavalas, Augusta. Louis was much loved by his family and friends. He was admired and respected by his colleagues and clients alike, evidenced by his numerous awards of recognition for his work on behalf of others. He will be remembered as a talented, loving and kind person. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Protection Church, 26-37 12th St., Astoria, New York 11102-3723. The family will receive friends today from 1 - 3 PM and from 7 - 9 PM with the Trisagion service at 8 PM at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 1134 Telfair St., Augusta, Georgia.
