He is the grandson of Whitson George and the great grandson of Nicholas VI George who signed the Corn Compact on 15 Apr 1779 at Fort Boonesboro. Whitson George was just 14 years old when he signed the Corn Compact.
On April 11, 1853 Woodford Perry George married his first wife, Mary Eleanor Glenn in Buchanan County, Missouri. She died in Jun 1864 at 29 years of age leaving behind her husband and 5 sons.
Woodford married his 2nd wife Salinda Barnett on April 29, 1866. She passed on Feb. 09, 1868.
