PEDESTRIAN HIT BY SEDAN HURT FATALLY - ANGELO J. REPETTO EXPIRES - STRUCK WHILE CROSSING FRANKFORT AVENUE
While returning from a customary walk, Angelo J. Repetto, 80 years old, 115 North Birchwood Avenue, was injured fatally at 6:15 o'clock Friday night when he was struck by an eastbound sedan as he was crossing Frankfort Avenue at Birchwood Avenue. He died three and a half hours later at St. Joseph's Infirmary, where he was taken by police. Police planned to arrest the driver, Carl W. Lorenz, 48, of 3009 Wentworth Avenue, on a manslaughter charge. Mr. Lorenz, a salesman, described the accident as unavoidable. He told Patrolman Joseph Duncan and Corp. William Hale that Mr. Repetto walked in front of the car unexpectedly. Dr. Benjamin Choate and Deputy Coroner M. Rodger Dougherty reported that Mr. Repetto's injuries included a skull fracture, fractured pelvis, a broken right leg, broken left arm, shock and internal injuries. He was semi-conscious when admitted to the infirmary. Mr. Repetto was a bartender at Al Kolb's Café fourteen years, retiring five years ago. He is survived by a son, Barth Repetto and three daughters, Miss Theresa Repetto, Miss Mary Louise Repetto and Miss Martha Repetto.
