Arthur W. Gathof, 60, gardener at Shawnee Park, died at 2:40 p.m. Monday [August 28, 1939] at his home, 110 N. Longworth. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Crites Gathof; a son, Stephen C. Gathof; his mother, Mrs. Anna Catherine Gathof; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the John B. Ratterman Funeral Home, 2114 W. Market, and at 9 a.m. at St. Columba Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
