Harry Hines died on Saturday at his home near the Woodsheds. Death was caused by chronic rheumatism. The deceased was about 70 years of age, and was a veteran of the Civil war, having enlisted in a Massachusetts regiment. His funeral was held on Tuesday.

On 14 Jun 1861, Henry P. Hines was 24 years old and enlisted as a Private in Company D, Massachusetts 10th Infantry Regiment on 21 Jun 1861. He was residing in Lenox, Massachusetts and was a farmer. He was wounded during the war and survived. He mustered out on 1 Jul 1863 and transferred to Company A, U.S. Veteran Reserve Corps 21st Infantry Regiment and mustered out on 1 Jul 1864.
