Martha married William Alford on 19 Jan 1830 in Wellington. She was 13 years old; 9 months after the marriage her first child was born, Eliza Jane. By the age of 33 when William died, she had produced 14 children. In her second marriage she had two more. She outlived William by 60 years!
After the death of William, Martha married John Windecker Stewart on 4 July 1852 in Oshtemo, Michigan.
