The Rev. Herbert V. Hamilton, a native of New Orleans and long prominent in Baptist circles in the South, dropped dead in Little Rock Tuesday. He was the son of the late William W. Hamilton and Louvania A. Goff Hamilton. The body will be returned to New Orleans and funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 from the St. Charles Avenue Baptist Church.

The Rev. Mr. Hamilton was secretary of the Sunday school and Baptist Young People's work of the Arkansas Baptist state convention. He dropped dead near his office. Apoplexy is thought responsible for his demise. He was 34 years old.

The Rev. Mr. Hamilton was connected with the Louisiana and Texas conventions before going to Arkansas. He is survived by his mother and a sister, Mrs. Clark D. (Louvania) Shaughnessy, wife of the Loyola football coach.
