Perry served in Co. G, 12th MS Calvary as a drummer in the Civil War. 1877, Perry, his sister Helena and her husband N H Nickels were involved in a lawsuit over the estate of his father. Perry received $321.38 for himself, and $107.12 as guardian of Lee Drake. They moved to Columbus and lived at 1409 N 4th Ave.
