ELEANOR M. SARGENT (Horton) Passed away peacefully with her loved ones at her side, on August 3, 2009. Eleanor Horton was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Jackson, Michigan. She married Ernest J. Sargent in 1937, and they moved to California where they spent the rest of their lives together, along with their four children, Ernest "Bud" Sargent (Karen), of Tehachapi, Jerry Sargent (Jan), of Quartz Hill, Marie Louria (Bob), of Dearborn, Michigan, and Peggy Schlipf (Ed), of Lancaster. "Ernie" and Eleanor were life long partners; he preceded her n death in Feb. 1993. It warms our hearts to know that they will now be together again, forever! Eleanor was passionate about real estate and spent many years in residential sales in the Antelope Valley. Besides being the worlds best cook, Eleanor was the BEST mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great- grandmother and friend ever! She never had a bad word to say about anyone, was always willing to help everyone, and everyone was her friend. Eleanor is survived by her 4 children, 14 grandchildren, 24 1/2 great grandchildren and 2 great- great-grandchildren, her brother Ed Horton of Jackson, Mich., her stepsister, Lois Smoyer of Michigan, and cousins Tom and Rod King of Michigan. She will be missed by so many who loved her.Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2009, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 2009, both at Halley-Olsen- Murphy Chapel, Lancaster. Interment will follow at Lancaster District Cemetery.

SARGENT, Eleanor M.
Born October 12, 1920, in Michigan. Passed away August 3, 2009, at the age of 88, in Lancaster with her loving family by her side. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2009, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 2009, both at Halley-Olsen-Murphy Chapel, Lancaster. Interment will follow at Lancaster District Cemetery.
