ST. PAUL - Mrs. Edna I Anderson, 84, a former resident of St. Paul, died Friday at a Grand Island nursing home. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home in St. Paul with the Rev. Kenneth Christensen officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery...
Mrs. Anderson was born Sept. 23, 1889, near Burwell, the daughter of John and Sarah Wilson LeMasters. In 1892, she moved with her parents to St. Paul where she received her education and graduated in 1907. She taught in rural Howard County schools for six years. On Oct. 21, 1914, she married Peter Anderson at Grand Island. The couple made their home on a farm near Cushing until March of 1920 when they moved to St. Paul where they spent the rest of their married life. Her husband died in 1953. She made her home in St. Paul until 1968, when she moved to a Grand Island nursing home. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Success Rebekah Lodge No. 215.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Lois Evison of Ravenna, Mrs. Ruth Johansen of Grand Island, Mrs. Doris McCord of Omaha and Mrs. Evelyn Morse of St. Paul; one son, Dale of McDermott, Nev.; two brothers, Edward of Gallup, N.M. and Jay of Orchard; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, two sisters and two brothers.
