Nigh on to fifteen years has it been beyond the alloted time of man since Millard Filmore Bruner was born in Louisville, KY, Feb. 4, 1857, being one and the last surviving of a family of eleven children born to Andrew Jackson and Margaret Elizabeth Bruner.

When he was two years old his parents moved to Mattoon, IL, where he grew to manhood, and on Nov. 22, 1883, he was united in marriage to Ada Ross.

To them were born five children, one dying in infancy; the surviving are Esther, now Mrs. John Gertsch of Granite City, IL, Helen Now Mrs. Frank Tolliver of Noble, Noel Bruner of Howey, Florida and Mildred, now Mrs. Frank Berger of Noble.

Mr. Bruner was a brick mason by trade and was for some time engaged in the mercantile business. He died Christmas 1941.He was 84 years, 10 months and 21 days. He is survived by his wife and four children, six grandchildren.
