A private gathering of family and friends will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 1998, in Salem for Leo Wallace Tackett III, who died July 13 at age 43.

Mr. Tackett was born March 30, 1955, in Twin Falls, Idaho. He had lived in the Portland area for the past 20 years and previously lived in Lincoln City. He served in the U.S. Army in the late 1970s. He graduated from Mt. Hood Community College with a degree in automotive technology. He worked for Allie Systems in Sherwood and for Mountain Park Chevron.

Survivors include his son, Leo W. IV of Salem; parents, Leo W. II and Diane Tackett of Salem; sisters, Mary Mattison of Jefferson and Martha Tackett of Salem; and brother, Jack of Salem.

Interment was private. The family suggests remembrances to the Special Olympics in Milwaukie. Arrangements were by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
