Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church for former Taft resident Christine G. Gallegos, 86. The Rev. Loydell J. Marth, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, will be the celebrant.
Burial wll follow in the West Side District Cemetery.
Mrs. Gallego was born July 24, 1907 in Wickenburg, Arizona., and passed away in a Bakersfield nursing home Saturday afternoon.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Gabriel "Gabe" Garcia, in January 1991.
Her survivors include a daughter, Irene Cohen of Los Angeles; a son, Arnold Gallegos of Kalamazoo, Mich; a brother, Mike Garcia of Bakersfield; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
The services are under the direction of the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
