William Stacy
William Stacy, 79, of Hanover, died Wednesday in a Welch hospital following a short illness.
He was the son of the late Richard and Sally Cooper Stacy.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Laura Stacy; nine daughters, Mrs. May Blankenship of Wellard?, Virginia, Mrs. Ocie Blankenship of Pineville, Mrs. Spicey Mullins of Paynesville, Mrs. Sarah Rife of Iaeger, Mrs. Edna Morgan of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mrs. Marie Daugherty of Hanover, Mrs. Delores Morgan of Damascus, Va., Mrs. Rachel Church of Newport News, Va., and Miss Linda Gayle Stacy of the home; 10 sons, Lee Stacy of Jolo, Lonnie Stacy of Justice, Va., Harper Stacy of Pineville, Junior Stacy of Paynesville, Ance Stacy of Paynesville, Sterle Stacy of Wilmington, Del., Estil Stacy of Gilbert, Carl Stacy of Justice, Kermit Stacy of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Carman Stacy of Iaeger; two step-sons, Ray Mullins of Rockland, Ill., and Van Mullins of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Blankenship of Hurley, Va., and Mrs. Martha Payne of Bradshaw; two brothers, Herve Stacy of Panther and Boyd Stacy of Bishop, Va.; 89 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Emery (Spicey) Mullins in Paynesville with the Rev. Hassell Estep, Rev. Cosby Conaway, and Rev. Elbert Justice officiating. Burial will follow in Cooper Cemetery at Paynesville.
Grandsons will be pallbearers and granddaughters will be flowerbearers.
The body was taken from Virginia Funeral Home in Grundy to the residence.
Virginia Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
