LIDY ANN RAGAN
Lidy Ann Ragan, daughter of the late William and Laura Shrader, was born Sept. 1, 1857, and departed this life Sept. 24, 1931, at her home near Melrose, Iowa, after an extended illness with gall stones.
She was united in marriage to Daniel Ragan on April 22, 1873, and to this union seven children were born. One child died in infancy, the others who survive are: John Ragan, of Chariton; William, of Georgetown; Mrs. Lura Fox, of Ocean Park, California; Mrs. Cora Howie, of Melrose; Harve and Harry, at home.
Besides the children, she is survived by twenty grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, also three brothers and one sister: N. A. Shrader, of Chariton; Frank Shrader, of Boone; Edd Shrader, of Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. Hattie Bell, of Nara Visa, New Mexico.
Mrs. Ragan was a member of the Christian church, being baptized when a young girl. She was a faithful wife, a kind and loving mother, a friend and helper to all. She had won a host of friends and her demise has brought sadness to many hearts. The sympathy of all will be extended to the bereaved ones.
