Sarah M. Parris
BLACKFOOT-Sarah Margaret Parris, 82, Blackfoot, died Saturday at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Parris was born Oct. 23, 1895, in Weston to William and Margaret Anderson Taylor. When she was about 10 years old the family moved to Downey.
She married Lee Parris Oct. 6, 1915, in Pocatello. After their marriage, they lived in Marsh Center, Idaho, and moved to Blackfoot in 1923 where they farmed. Mrs. Parris received her education in the Downey area.
She was a member of the LDS Church, Blackfoot First Ward. She was active in the Relief Society and a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was also a member of the Woodmen's Circle. She enjoyed making quilts, crocheting, and gardening.
Survivors include one son and one daughter, William Owen Parris, Rigby, and Faye Behrend, Blackfoot; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Christensen, both of Pocatello; 21 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. Two son, Dean and DeVear and one daughter, Anna, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Blackfoot LDS First Ward Church by Bishop Max Tanner. Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Grove City Cemetery, Blackfoot.
