Maxine Cannon
Maxine Cannon of Beeville, 80, died Tuesday morning at Renfro Nursing Home.
She was born in Nueces Co. on Aug. 15, 1910, to Jesse E. and Mattie Frances Cannon.
She attended Texas A&I where she received her master's degree. She taught in several school districts, retiring after 40 years in Beeville.
Ms. Cannon held several state offices in TSTA and was active in the Beeville Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She was also active in several ladies organizations and civic clubs in the Beeville area.
Private services for the family will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Auburn Cemetery.
Survivors included; a nephew, H.C. Stinson Jr. of Maypearl; and a niece, Betty Frances Stinson of Corpus. Other survivors are; Cathy Moore, Pat McElroy, both of Waxahachie and Pat McElroy Jr. of Duncanville.
Services are under the direction of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home.
