Mrs. Ruby Barton
Mrs. Ruby Barton, 73, of 5306 Copperstone, Climax, passed away Wednesday evening, October 5th, 1983 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. She was born January 17,1910 in Clyde Twp., Allegan County, daughter of Ruben and Geraldine Silcox Gum.[sic] She had moved to Galesburg from Plainwell in 1928, to Scotts in 1941 and to Climax in 1978. Mrs. Barton was a member of Scotts United Methodist Church and Pythian Sisters of Scotts. She is survived by her husband, William E. Barton of Climax, one son William E. Barton Jr., of Scotts; four daughters - Mrs. Ronald (Mary Ellen) Smith of Climax, Mrs. Marvin (Rose Ann) Triestram and Ms. Belle Joyce Barton, both of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Dean (Louise G.) Hulien of Vassar, Mich.; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. C. C. (Bertha) Harback and Mrs. Henry (Stella) Kirk, both of Holiday, F la.; and a brother Mr. R.G. Gum of Elgin, Oregon; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at the Scotts United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Allred officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Scotts United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. There will be no visitation at the Hoag Switzer Funeral Home, Galesburg who are handling arrangements.
