Marguerite Eckler

SEWARD — Marguerite Eckler, 79, passed away Dec. 18, 2002, with her family by her side in Cooperstown.
She was born May 17, 1923, the daughter of Perry and Ada W. (Chase) Ten Eyck.
She graduated from Cobleskill High School in 1941.
She was mostly a stay at home wife and mother. Her church and her family were her life, always putting others' needs before hers.
Mrs. Eckler was a member and financial secretary of the Zion Lutheran Church of Seward, sang in the choir, the Women's group and the Seward Thursday Club.
She is predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Earl F. Eckler.
Mrs. Eckler is survived by, Linda Dudley of Queensbury, Anita and Mike Milligan of Queensbury; four sons, Earl C. and Faith Eckler of Schoharie, Jeffrey L. and Gail Eckler of Cobleskill, Lawrence T. and Linda Eckler of Ancram, Benjamin P. Eckler of Sharon Springs; one sister, Irene Ten Eyck Silver of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at 4 p.m. at Zion St. John's Lutheran Church, Seward. Calling hours will be held Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Burial will be in Westville Cemetery, Middlefield.
