Ms. Parsons was born March 24, 1941 in Columbia, LA and passed away Sunday August 2, 2009, in West Monroe. She was a homemaker and her favorite pass times were playing dice and watching NASCAR (Kyle Busch).
Ms. Parsons was preceded in death by her parents, William and Irene Bailey and her sister Carolyn Bailey.
Survivors include seven daughters, Shalia Swaggart and husband Kenny, Beverly Ellis, DeWanna Mason, Sherry Gooden and husband Wayne, Zenita Tate and husband Terry, Kimberly Nichols, and Amy Franklin; one sister Gloria Gooden; three brothers Marvin Bailey and wife Laverne, Charles Bailey, and Louis Wayne "Pete" Bailey and wife Christy; twenty-two grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Tate, Michael Parsons, Garret Gooden, Kenny Ray Mason, Michael Mason, and Marvin Bailey, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers are Berry Carter and Mike Hopkins.
A special thanks is extended to Dr. El-Malah and Dr. Shafiei, and the Landmark Nursing Home staff for their care during her illness.
Visitation is Tuesday, August 4, 2009, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Palestine Baptist Church.
