Service will be at 11 am at the United Methodist Church in Wood River, with the Rev. Dr. Hyeondong Baek officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River. Burial will be Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Was born April 17, 1921, in Knox County to Lyman L. and Velzo Eva (Clifford) Elwood.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allan.
Survivors of the immediate family include a daughter and son in law, Mary and Charles Seeley of Kearney; a son and daughter in law, Robert and Jane Allan of Wood River, and two brothers and sisters in law, Donald and Helen Elwood of Elkhorn, William and Linda Elwood of Fremont.

Additional survivors include grandchildren, Jennifer Seeley of Elm Creek, Kyle and Rebecca Allan of Wood River, Kelly Allan of Grand Island, Jonathan and Malena Seeley of Elm Creek, Dr. Heather and Mike Henrichs of Omaha and great grandchildren Wyatt and Jersey Allan of Wood River, Paloma, Alicia and Jonah Seeley of Elm Creek, Grace Blessing of Elm Creek, Finnley Henrichs of Omaha.
She grew up in Knox County, graduating from Creighton High School in 1939.
She moved to Grand Island after graduation and later to Wood River. She was united in marriage to Robert Allan on Feb. 20, 1943, in Kansas. The couple lived in Wood River and she lived her entire married life on a farm near Wood River.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Wood River and the United Methodist Women, and she worked a lot with the youth of the Church. She was a
lifetime member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 35 years. After her retirement, she enjoyed sewing, reading, crafts, traveling, and camping. Mr. Allan preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her Parents and infant Sister.
Memorials are suggested to the Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
