Jerry Milton Chandler, 56, of Route 10, died at 2 a.m. today in the Veterans Hospital in Columbia after a short illness.
A lifelong resident of Greene County, he was a farmer and substitute rural mail carrier for Route 10. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Chandler was a member of the American Legion at Fair Grove and Liberty Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Vera K.; a son, Robert, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Ann Aldridge, Mesa, Ariz., and Molly Kathleen, of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Breshears, 849 South Newton, and Mrs. Gladys Goldie, Roswell, N. M.

Funeral services for Jerry Milton Chandler, 56, of Route 10, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Klingner Chapel, with the Revs. Lew Cort, Calvin Parrish and Joe Breshears officiating. Burial will be in Mount Comfort Cemetery north of Springfield.
