Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell, wife of Alexander B. Campbell, died of cancer at the home of her mother, Mrs. Harriet Bliss, on Ruth street, last Wednesday morning at half-past twelve o'clock.
She was in the fiftieth year of her age.
Mrs. Campbell was well-known as a girl in Rushville as Miss Elizabeth Bliss. She was married to Mr. Campbell in May, 1867, and after a few years' residence in Rushville they removed to Illinois, and later located at Topeka, Kansas, where for four years Mr. Campbell held the office of adjutant general, and practiced law.
Her health failing, about a year ago, they moved to Los Angeles, California, and from there she was brought to her old home in Rushville, about two weeks before she died. Her death was received with sincere sorrow by the friends in this city, who knew and respected her for her many christian qualities. She was a true wife, mother and friend.
The funeral services took place yesterday afternoon from the residence of her mother, conducted by Rev. W. S. Campbell.
The burial was in East Hill cemetery.
