Hi, I noticed in the comments that you have James and Louisa Maxwell as the children of Rachel Mendenhall. Rachel is my 3rd great grandmother. I believe James and Louisa are actually the children of David Maxwell's second wife Matilda Huff. They also had a 3rd child Robert who died as an infant. I have updated the relationship links on these people so you should see that come through soon when the other contributors approve the updates.

My aunt has a family bible in her possession that belonged to Rachel's daughter. It states that Rachel Mendenhall married David Maxwell on Feb 10, 1845. This fits with the death of Matilda Huff being Jul 27, 1843. The bible also lists the children of Rachel and their birthdays, it does not list any kids with David Maxwell, just her first husband Levi Branson. The birth dates of the children tie back to other Quaker records I have found online, so I think the date for the marriage is likely accurate. The bible was published in 1845, and likely given as a gift around that time, to her daughter

DEATHS.
MAXWELL—On Second day, First month 26, 1880, at his residence near Dunreith, Henry County, Indiana, David Maxwell, in the 78th year of his age, an exemplary member of the Society of Friends throughout his life, and of Spiceland Monthly Meeting the last ten years.
He very patiently endured the affliction of a severe cough for many years. As his physical strength declined, his hope and confidence in the promises of God brightened if possible, and with the utmost composure he spoke of his decease, and prayed that his faculties might not be clouded at the close, and his request was granted. At the last season of family worship he said: "Whether we all live to see each other in the morning or not, I have an abiding faith and belief that all will be well with me." Though very careful not to profess spiritual attainments beyond his possession, this modesty never degenerated into indecision, but he was a pronounced and outspoken believer in salvation through the merits of a crucified Redeemer.
