Terry May, of Terre Haute died Aug. 1, 2009 after a long battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 27, 1955 to Lawrence and Barbara Land in Anderson, Ind. She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Hugh May. She is survived by her two sons, John and wife Nicole and Scott and wife Jodi; six grandchildren, John Austin, Alexis Bailey, Shakira Aubrey, Hugh "Hughie" Harrison, Luke Wesley and Samuel Scott all of Terre Haute; her father and mother, Lawrence and Shirley of Terre Haute; three sisters, Judy Miller and husband David of Covington, La., Debra Montgomery and husband Jim, Melody Bailey and husband Steve; two brothers, Tim and wife Carol and Greg all of Terre Haute. She also has several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She attended Terre Haute South High School and graduated in 1973. Throughout her life she and Hugh owned several successful businesses including: The Great American Car Wash and May's Stadium Standard. After Hugh's death, Terry was dedicated to operating the Courtesy Cleaning Centers in Indianapolis. She loved playing golf and spending time with her grandchildren. A celebration of life ceremony will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Agape Christian Church with a memorial to follow. All friends and family are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to Clara Fairbanks (Breast Cancer support group). Callahan-DeBaun Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
