Pauline Bennett, 80, of Sparta, passed away July 26, 2002.
Bennett was born Jan. 2, 1922, in White County, to Walter Bransford Holman and Bessie Mae Cooke.
She had been employed at the shirt factory in the pressing department.
Bennett was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Artie King Bennett;
one son, Vernon Bennett;
three brothers, Stanford Holman, Herman Holman and Leon Holman; and
one sister, Beulah Howard.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Willard and Sue Bennett of Sparta;
two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanetta and Tommy Denton and Hilda and Dane Sorrell all of Sparta;
five sisters, Esteline Cashdollar and Ernestine Holman both of Sparta, Josephine Howard of Memphis, Thelma Jean Clark of Mt. Juliet and Dorothy McCall of Jackson, Miss.;
three brothers, Buford Holman, Raymond Holman and W.B. Holman Jr. all of Sparta;
three granddaughters, Julie Bastian, Lorie Parrett and Courtney Hanna; and
two great grandchildren, Austin Gaines Hanna And Mary Helen Bastian.
Services were held July 28, 2002, at Thurman Funeral Home with burial in Old Bon Air Cemetery. Bro. Jim Saunders officiated.
