Hershel Crabtree, 86, of Rudy died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, in a local nursing home.

He was the former mayor of Kibler and retired as a farmer. He was a member of the Kibler Baptist Church.

Funeral was 2 p.m. Friday in Ocker Funeral Home Chapel of Alma with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; one daughter, Mae Maxine Osburn of Rudy; five sisters, Eunice Massey, Wanda Moreland, Alma Tudor, all of Van Buren, and Vonda Myers and Reba Wells, both of Cedarville; six brothers, Leonard of Santa Monica, Calif., Ike and Jerry, both of Van Buren, Ezra of Fort Smith, Junior of Tulsa and Donvel of Cedarville; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and
one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Bruce, Keith, David, Henry and William Crabtree, Frank Watkins, Jimmy Wells and Terry McCabe.
