Funeral services for Mrs. Erma F. Brown, 72, of Larwill, a life-long resident of Whitley county, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Larwill Methodist church with the Rev. Marion Shroyer, officiating.
The body has been removed to the Smith and Sons Funeral Home where friends may call until noon Sunday at which time it will be taken to the church to lie in state until the hour of the service.
Mrs. Brown died Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Farris Nursing home where she had been a patient since June 23. She had been in failing health for the last four years suffering with Parkinson's disease, and two years ago suffered the first of a series of apoplectic strokes which ultimately caused death.
She was a native of Richland township, and was born on February 14, 1886, a daughter of Fletcher and Mary McKown Goodrich. On April 15, 1909, she was married to Ernest V. Brown. They started housekeeping on a farm in Richland township, and with the exception of seven years which were spent in Thorncreek and Columbia townships, they always made their home in Richland township. During the past three years they have resided at their home in Larwill. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Larwill Methodist church.
The surviving relatives include her husband, Ernest, three sons, Eldon Brown, Connersville; Walter Brown, near South Whitley; Lewis Brown, Tri Lakes; two daughters, Mrs. Clinton Bohnstedt, Larwill; Mrs. Emmett Keefer, Argos; twenty-four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, three brothers, Frank Goodrich, Columbia City; Chauncey and Floyd Goodrich, both residents of California; three sisters, Mrs. Birdie Schuman, R 6, Columbia City; Mrs. Amon Beard, Larwill; and Mrs. Leonard Foster, Columbia City.
