Yvonne M. Cooper, age 73, of Michigan City, died Monday, August 11 at Life Care Center of Valparaiso. Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial of ashes for Mr. & Mrs. Cooper will take place in Noonan, ND. Mrs. Cooper was born July 20, 1935 in North Dakota to Walter and Helen (Gaheen) Myhra, both of whom preceded her in death. On Feb. 5, 1955 in Divide County, ND she married John F. Cooper, he passed away on July 29, 2008. Surviving are sons Craig (Doyla) Cooper of Frankfort, IN and Greg (Norma) Cooper of Kyle, TX; grandchildren Nicole Eavey Frankfort, IN, Joshua Cooper of Lafayette, IN and Dakota Cooper of Keiser, OR, and great-grandson Aidan Eavey, sisters Iown Olson and Shirley Fleck, Lorelei Unhjem, and Jane Benter, all of Crosby, ND, Faye (Warren) Smith of Bay City, MI, and brother Thomas (Gloria) Myhra of Fridley, MN. She was preceded in death by brothers Clayton, Lloyd, Burnell and her twin Donald Myhra.
Mrs. Cooper had been a mathmatics teacher at Rogers High School and Elston Jr. High School, retiring in 1981, then teaching at Purdue North Central, for a combined 40 plus years of teaching.
Both Mr. & Mrs. Cooper became reborn Christians on June 12, 2008. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She had been an attentive and adoring daughter.
