A soldier of the Revolutionary War, DAR #A209379 was a private in Capt. Stephen Russel's Company of militia, Colonel Green's regiment, which marched April 19, 1775; he was also in Capt. Joseph Bradley Varnum's (Dracut) Co. of volunteers, Col. Jonathan Reed's regiment. Fought at Lexington & Saratoga. Thomas came from Dracut Mass and was one of the early settlers along with Joseph Herrick. Thomas lived for many years on the Taylor Farm and the Taylor School was named after him. He had three wives, 2nd Jemima Coburn, 1st Sarah Richardson died early in Dracut,MA, 3rd Marium Pettingill. Thomas' parents are Thomas and Phebe. Thomas has eleven children: Josuha, Sarah(Salley) Joseph, Phineas, James*, Rebecca, Thomas, Charles, Luther, Asa P., and Bartholomew. Thomas is described in the history books..."a tall athletic man who settled in Greene by 1785, an excellent lot, one of the best in the Plantation. He was an industrious man, made a good living, and kept the property in the name to this day, (1891). This is the farm where Charles C. Taylor now lives."
