June 21, 1923 ~ January 13, 2003 Vergil H. Clouse, 79, of Sparta, Tennessee, passed from life on January 13, 2003, at Life Care Center of Sparta. Clouse was born June 21, 1923, in White County, Tennessee, to Joel Johnson Clouse and Estella Usrey Clouse. He was a member of Findlay Church of Christ and had served in the U.S. Air Force. Clouse was also retired from Thomas Industries and had worked as a driver for UCARTS. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; and four brothers. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Vinson Clouse; one daughter, Phyllis Sims of White County; one brother, Harvey Richard Clouse of White County; two granddaughters and their husbands, Jill and Jason Cloyd and Tracy and Matt Bray; four great grandchildren, Ashlyn Cloyd, Ty Cloyd, Jacob Bray and Trevor Bray; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted on January 14, 2003, at the Findlay Church of Christ with interment in Oaklawn Cemetery. Bro. Randy White and Bro. Kenneth Bray will officiate. Thurman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
