Orville M. Anderson, of Pittsville, Maryland, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2009, at Coastal Hospice on the Lake.

He was born July 10, 1918, in Scottsville, Virginia, a son of the late Wiley Young and Irene Haden Anderson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Naomi Butler Anderson, and a brother, Benjamin Douglas Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was the beloved father of Stephanie, Deborah, and Charlene, beloved grandfather of Sunday, Glen, Will, and Jaime, and beloved great-grandfather of Madelyn.

Also surviving are three brothers, Haden, Everette, and Robert, and a sister Sara.

Orville, also known as "Bus" and "Buster" to friends served in the United States Navy during Word War II and worked for Karl W. Corby Construction Company from his youth until 1996. He was most fond of music and sports.

A funeral service was conducted Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home by the Reverend James Jetton.

Burial with military honors followed in Scottsville Cemetery.
