PEARISBURG - Army Pfc. Bradley H. Tate died August 8, 1966 in Viet Nam. Bradley H. Tate was born July 13, 1947 in the Clendennin community near Pearisburg, Va. Pfc. Tate, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Tate, Box 202, Pearisburg, attended Giles County High School before entering the U.S. Army about two years ago. Since arriving in Viet Nam nine months ago, Pfc. Tate had been hospitalized once with wounds and once with malaria. He was hospitalized for six weeks after receiving eight side wounds from hand grenade shrapnel during combat. He was hospitalized for four weeks with malaria. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Tate of Pearisburg, three brothers, David A. Tate, Stanley C. Tate, and Kevin Tate, all of Pearisburg, three sisters, Mrs. Margie Massey, Pearisburg, Althea Tate, Pearisburg, and Mrs. Helen Price, Hampton, Va. Bradley's father, who is service manager of Virginia Garage, Inc., at Pearisburg, said his son was scheduled to rotate to the United States from Viet Nam in four months. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 17, 2:30 p.m. at Givens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Calvin Brown officiating. Burial will be in Birchlawn Cemetery.
