Heber N. Stoddard son of William Stoddard lived his entire life in Porter County Ind. At age 15 he enlisted in Co. C 138 Indianna Reg and was discharged after the war. He was the sheriff of Porter Co. His biograpy is featured on P. 372 of Pictorial and Biographical Record of LaPorte, Porter, Lake and Starke Counties, In (1894 Goodspeed Pub.)
