Lorne Clifford Fields used the name of Clifford. He was born in Chatham, Ontario, the son of Wilson and Hannah Askins Fields. He came to Hespeler in 1945 and worked at Simplicity Products Ltd. until illness forced him to retire.

During the First World War he served overseas with the 64th Field battery and during the Second World War, with the Veterans Guard of Canada. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Clifford first married Mabel Countryman 7 Aug 1915. She died of smallpox in 1924. There were three children from this marriage, Marjorie Fields, Laura Fields and Donald Fields.

He married second Sarah Rose Baker, known as Rose.
Rose was born 11 November 1905 at Tilbury, Essex, England, daughter of Charles and Charlotte Chambers Baker. She was orphaned at age 2 and lived with relatives. She came to Canada in 1919 with her brother Charles.

Clifford and Rose had four sons and three daughters:

Dorothy, born 13 April 1926; Dorothy married Donald Paddock in 1970. She died 9 May 1906.
Robert, born 19 April 1927; died 1 August 1945
(Audrey) Maxine, born 6 Feb 1929 at Unadilla, Michigan;
Maxine married Lloyd Frederick Munch in Hespeler, Ontario 21 June 1947
Charles Glen, born 15 March 1934 at Monetville, Ontario, married Carol Ernst in 1959; married second Dorothy McKittrick in 1966. Divorced.
James Carl, born 1 March 1936 at Monetville, Ontario, married first Bonnie Jane Barron in 1959 at Saskatchewan. He married second Laura Aubichon 14 August 1983 at Cambridge, Ontario.

Gail Patricai, born 11 September 1946 in Galt, Ontario married Ken Herrriot 29 October 1966 at Cambridge, Ontario.
