Sheldon Harold Rosenthal, 81, passed away peacefully Dec. 8, 2003. He was a resident of Lake Charles for more than 50 years. Born and raised in Chicago, he was a graduate of the University of Illinois. He was a World War II Army/Air Force veteran. He served as executive vice president of Fair Stores Inc. based in Beaumont, Texas. He is survived by Jackie Barsh Rosenthal; his daughter, Gwenn E. Rosenthal of Washington, D.C.; son, Stewart E. Rosenthal and daughter-in-law, Lousie S. Rosenthal; grandchildren, Michael, Cara and Jaclyn Rosenthal of Houston; and sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Meyer Lewis of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Florence E. Rosenthal.
His graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, in Kol Israel Cemetery of Beaumont, under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
