Peter Cornelius Gallagher

Peter was the son of Cornelius Gallagher and Mary Shovlin Gallagher, and had two brothers and three sisters. He married Mary Ellen Ferry on October 15, 1894. They had one son, John Gallagher, that died in infancy and six daughters. He lived in several towns in the Hazleton, Pennslyvania area where he worked in the coal mines. Around 1906 he moved to Luzerne, Pennsylvania with his family. After the move, he worked as a conductor on streetcars in Wilkes Barre for the Wilkes Barre Railway Corporation. He later worked as a dispatcher and in the car shops performing maintenance. He was active in social functions at St. Ignatius Church, and he was the president of the Holy Name Society and the Irish American Society. He also belonged to a temperance society. He moved to Kingston five years before he passed away.
