Mrs. Emmie Cates died at her home in this place, Saturday night, the 28th, after a long and distressing illness of many months. The funeral sermon was preached at the Baptist church last Sunday evening by the pastor, Re. W. L. Kilpatrick, and her remains were interred in the Waynesboro cemetery. She was the widow of Frank F. Cates, Esq., who died several years ago. Mrs. Cates leaves many friends and relatives to regret her untimely death.
