Willard Friend, of Lead Hill, Ark., died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, at the age of 69.

He was born May 25, 1939, in Reeds Spring, the son of Raymond and Amie (Poor) Friend. He was a retired mechanic and had been a resident of Lead Hill for the past four years.

Survivors include his wife, Linda (Warren) Friend, of the home, two children, Frances Friend, of Sacramento, Calif., and Gary Friend, of Hollister, four brothers, Leroy Friend and Harvey Friend, both of Sacremento, Calif., twin brother, Wilford Friend, of Galena, and Dean Friend, of North Highlands, Calif., two sisters, Wilma White, of Galena, and Corlene Andreasen, of Sacremento, Calif., and seven grandchildren.

Willard was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Herbert and John Friend, and two sisters, Helen Monks and Geneva Hopper.

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 2 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home, Branson.

Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home, Branson.
