Lois May Wisner, age 90, of Nixa, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2009. She was born June 27, 1919, in Nixa, the daughter of Herman R. and Vesta (McConnell) Maples.
She was united in marriage to W.A. "Barney" Wisner. They owned Wisner Feed Mill for many years. She loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Lois was a faithful member of Calvary Bible Church in Nixa. She served in the nursery for 25 years, taught Sunday School and Bible School, and sang in the church choir. Her favorite Bible passage was St. John 14.
Survivors include her daughter, Marva June Hedgpeth, Nixa; a sister, Joyce Mabe, Nixa; a brother, Raymond Maples, Easley, South Carolina; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Shelton, Springfield, Missouri; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Florence Herndon; a brother, Roy Maples; and her parents.
A graveside funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 2, in McConnell Cemetery, Nixa with the Rev. Joseph Fahl and Rev. Lance Ogden officiating. Friends may come to the Adams Funeral Home, Nixa for viewing from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday.
