Earnest E. Ford Sr., of Willard, formerly of Springfield, passed away at 11:40 p.m., March 3, 2008, in his home. Mr. Ford was born December 12, 1928, in Pershing, Ok., to Jack and Murrel Ford. Mr. Ford was a Marine and fought gallantly in the Korean War; he was also a member of the Gate of the Temple Masonic Lodge and the Crescent Chapter
of the Eastern Star. Mr. Ford retired from Mulhollon Furniture Company.
Mr. Ford was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Frankie Ford; his parents; and six brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his children, Kathy Hampton and husband, Mike of Willard, Ernie Ford Jr. and wife, Carlene of Republic; Sandy Cendroski and husband, Jim of Springfield and Donna Price of Springfield; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Glen Ford, Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister, Helen Ribbing of Aurora, MO.; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial in Eastlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
