Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tommy Choate officiating. Burial will be in the Stewart Cemetery, Trigg County. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday.
A native of Trigg County, he was born July 19, 1935, the son of the late George Byron Choate, Sr. and (Delia) Dellie Mae Cunningham Choate. He was retired from the Army and served two tours in Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Choate, Salem, Ohio, Lee Choate, Princeton; a daughter, Belinda McBeth, Gatesville, Texas; three brothers, Byron Choate, Jr., Gracey, Clarence and James Lacy Choate, both of Trigg County; four sisters, Louise Hinson and Bonnie Graham, Dorothy Hinson, Muskegon, Mich., and Lucy Mitchuson, Indiana. and five grandchildren.
