Rev. William "Bill" Barton, Sr., age 83. passed away July 3, 2008 in Ocean Springs, MS. Rev. Barton was born August 25, 1924 in Abbeville, AL. He pastored four churches for over 30 years; Bay View Heights, Mobile, AL., First Baptist Church, Satsuma, AL., Jackson Avenue Baptist church, Pascagoula, MS., and Wade Baptist Church, Wade, MS. He served as interim pastor for 32 churches while serving as Director of the Home of Grace. He and his wife founded the Home of Grace in 1965. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Melody Ann (Lester) Barton-16 years old. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Jean Lester Barton of Vancleave, MS., four sons; Manly (Sarah) Barton of Hurley, MS., Virgil (Darlene) Barton of Baton Rouge, LA., Billy (Shellene) Barton of Vancleave, MS., Mike (Julie) Barton of Vancleave, MS., eleven grandchildren; Jill (Mark) Chastant, Jeri (Doug) Hudson, Christy(Nathan) Barber, Michael (Lindsey) Barton, Jennifer (Cain) Roberds, Josh (Hailey) Barton, Nicholas Barton, Lee Barton, Kennon Barton, Paul Barton, Clay Barton, eleven great-grandchildren; Jordan & Austin Chastant, Chase McCrory, Haley Bradford, Noah & Emma Barber, Trey, Melody & Brandon Barton, Jackson Roberds, Olivia Barton, and extended family; Cornel, Chica, Alexandra and Olivia Bucaciuc. Visitation will be Saturday July 5, 2008 from 11:00am until 3:00pm at Wade Baptist Church in Wade, MS. Funeral Service will follow at 3:00pm at the church. Burial will follow at Vancleave #1 Cemetery in Vancleave, MS. The family prefers donations be made to the Home of Grace, Vancleave, in lieu of flowers.
