Born Aug. 16, 1882 in Ross County to Daniel and Elizabeth Halterman Cydrus, he married Rosa Mae McDade in October 1913. She died May 12, 1957.
Surviving are five daughters, Miss Alberta Cydrus, Mrs. Richard (Delores) Carroll, and Mrs. William (Beulah) Bell, all of Route 5; Mrs. Worth (Thelma) Hines of Mooresville; and Mrs. Gale (Marjorie) Herman of Idaho; two sons, Ben and Donald, of Route 5; three sisters, Mrs. Della Blair, Mrs. Dolly Reed, and Mrs. Henry (Daisy) Pack, all of Chillicothe; a brother, George, of Route 5; and 19 grandchildren.
He was a section-hand for the B&O, C&O, and N&W Railroads before retiring in 1935. He was also a member of Hilltop Mission Church.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ware Funeral Home, with the Rev. Earl McCloy officiating. Burial will be in Three Locks Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
