Alvina Annie Toll Miertschin, 89 of Giddings died on July 29, 2009 at Oakland Manor Nursing Home.

Alvina was the widow of Walter Miertschin and was a homemaker. Funeral Services for Alvina Miertschin are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, August 1, 2009 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin with Pastor John Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, July 31, 2009 from 11 am until 9 pm at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.

Alvina is survived by a daughter, Mildred Voigt of Giddings; granddaughter, Brandi Taylor and husband James of College Station; sisters, Hulda Zoch, Evelyn Buscha and husband Bobby, and Lorene Stork and husband Charles; sister-in-law, Dottie Toll and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman & Frieda (Sohr) Toll; husband, Walter Miertschin; son, Edward Pampell; 3 sisters, Erna Liebscher, Leona Molin and Esther Toll and a brother, Herbert Toll.
